Terms of Service
Terms of Service
Introduction
Our Terms and Conditions are here to ensure you understand us, and our business, and what promises we provide. We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with every order and maintaining the highest quality for all our products. This document outlines our quality standards and explains how we address any issues related to our services.
Company Information
VisitMyStory is registered in the United Kingdom under “Placzek & Gorania LTD” (Company Number: 15837057). For more information related to our LTD, please visit Company House: link.
Who Can Buy Our Products
Our products must only be bought by people aged 18 and over, or with explicit permission from a guardian. By purchasing our product, you agree to these terms.
Our Services
We offer a range of services for memorials, both digital and physical. This includes sales, distribution, delivery, and post-care support.
As part of our packages:
- Our team creates the digital memorial, which is linked to a QR code for access.
- You will receive the memorial creation form via the order confirmation email.
- We aim to dispatch your digital memorial within 5 working days. If there is a delay, we will notify you promptly.
Cancellation before and after delivery
If you decide to cancel your order before or after delivery, please contact us via email at the earliest convenience – and we will inform you of the processes required.
As we want to ensure you are happy with your product, we will usually approve any cancellations where the cause is just, but we have the right to reject it if required.
Lifetime Guarantee
We offer a lifetime guarantee on slate plaques against natural degradation such as weathering or material defects. This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, including frequent removal or tampering. VisitMyStory may require evidence for the product manufacturing issues, and may require photographs or the product to be sent back to our dedicated addresses.
Digital Memorial Lifetime and Uptime
Our memorials will remain hosted on our platform as long as it is feasible and possible for us to sustain. We utilise top-end cloud platforms (Cloudways) in order to ensure the product has a reliable uptime with frequent backups. All our memorials are permanent unless requested by the purchaser.
Although we strive to ensure continuous availability, we cannot guarantee that downtime with our products will not occur. Please notify us if there are any problems with your memorial via the contact details at the bottom of the page.
Removal of Memorials
If you wish for your memorial to be removed, please contact us explicitly via email. We will require adequate information regarding your purchase to verify that you are the customer.
Web Scraping of memorials and indexing within Google or other SEO Platforms
As every website (including memorials) is publicly available, web scrapers from various SEO platforms and browsers may scrape our pages for indexing. We tag every memorial with a “no-index” tag to prevent memorials from being indexed on Google (and other search engines), but we cannot guarantee that a memorial is not indexed, this includes: memorial names, dates, photos and videos.
VisitMyStory takes no responsibility in what information is scraped, so please only submit information that you are happy with it being publicly available.
Ownership Of Memorials
To reduce any risk to our business, VisitMyStory is the sole owner of the memorials posted on our page, and we have full discretion to remove, alter or manage memorials should it be required. For example, if any information is deemed inappropriate, or if any comments are not appropriate – we are in our right to make a decision to remove the memorial with no prior warning.
Damage During Manufacturing
All plaques are inspected before dispatch to ensure consistent quality. If you notice any manufacturing defects (e.g., cracks, unclear QR code), please contact us immediately upon receipt so we can assist you.
Damage During Delivery
We use third-party delivery services (e.g., Royal Mail) and cannot guarantee the condition of products after delivery. If there are delivery-related issues, contact us directly and retain photographic evidence. Any necessary replacements will be covered by VisitMyStory.
Refunds
If you are not satisfied with your order, we offer a full refund without requiring a return of the physical plaque. The associated digital memorial page will be removed prior to processing the refund. Refunds may take up to 10 working days to process.
For issues beyond this period, please contact us via our contact form, and we will do our best to assist.
Product Risks
Our products are not generally dangerous to handle, and are inspected prior to shipping. However, due to the cutting process of the slate, the edges of the plaques may be sharp and should be handled with care. VisitMyStory does not take any responsibility for harm caused with the plaque, and the customer is liable for the handling of the product.
Complaints
For any complaints about our service, please use our dedicated contact form here. We aim to respond within 10 working days.
Legal Jurisdiction
We abide by English law, and we strive to ensure all processes are followed as per any laws that may apply.
Limitations Outside of Our Control
Any issues correlating to third parties, such as:
- Postal services
- Manufacturing of slate and engraving
- Postal products
- Adhesives
are not the responsibility of VisitMyStory. If any issues occur, we will strive to make it right. Please contact us for our support and we will try to amend any issues as soon as it is possible.
Limitations of Liability
While we strive to provide the highest level of service, we cannot be held liable for damages resulting from our services. As per our privacy statement, we cannot guarantee that digital media will not be accessed by third parties. However, we do not share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

By placing an order with VisitMyStory, you consent to the following:
- Receiving automatic follow-up emails inviting you to review your order. For customers in certain locations, explicit consent may be required before sending review reminders.
